This day serves as a poignant reminder of the dark history of residential schools in Canada. It’s a day to acknowledge the intergenerational trauma that still affects Indigenous communities today, and to recognize the strength and resilience of those who survived.
The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a day of memorial to recognize the atrocities and multi-generational effects of the Canadian Indian residential school system. we pause to remember and reflect. Today, we honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, their families, and their communities.

the Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony (ICPH) Chairman said that the International Day of Peace, celebrated on September 21, was established by the United Nations in 1981. Its purpose is to promote peace and non-violence worldwide, he said that peace day marks our urgent responsibility to foster solidarity, enforce disarmament, cultivate empathy and build lasting, sustainable peace for all. The day aims to encourage dialogue, conflict resolution, and peace education, emphasizing that peace is not just the absence of conflict but a positive, dynamic process involving mutual understanding and cooperation. He said that true peace is built on accountability, where human rights are upheld, wounds are healed, and trust is restored. Global cooperation is the key to advancing human rights, climate change, and promoting peace in conflict-affected regions.
Ambassador Global Peace and Human Rights Allama Muhammad Ahsan Siddiqui said that the world is facing an alarming rise in armed conflicts, violence, and displacement, and it is children who suffer the gravest consequences. In today’s turbulent times, concrete and practical steps for peace are essential. In a world marked by conflicts, inequality and discrimination. We must speak up against violence, hate, discrimination, and inequality; and embrace the diversity of our world. He said that we believe that Men’s women’s and youth participation in peacebuilding, conflict resolution and post-conflict reconstruction processes is essential to the goal of achieving and maintaining peace and security in every society. Together, we rise for justice, for healing, for a world where peace begins at home and grows across borders.
His Eminence Ambassador at Large for global Peace and Human Rights Imam Allama Ahsan Siddiqui said that on 21 September “World Peace Day”, we celebrate the power of unity, compassion, and dialogue in creating a peaceful world. Every small act of kindness brings us closer to a future filled with harmony and hope. We must teach future generations the values of understanding and cooperation, equipping them with the tools to resolve conflict peacefully. He urges all young individuals to be proactive, positive societal agents, joining the movement to achieve the SDGs (Sustainable Developmental Goals) and thereby building enduring peace.
