Hala Mallakh: A Career Role Model for Young Women
( Naeem Ul Hassan)
Women who started their careers early and achieved tremendous success may serve as an inspiration for young women in today’s competitive workplace. Berlin-based Hala Mallakh, who achieved amazing success in her early career, is one such example. Several young women, such as Hala, have accomplished great professional success by effectively juggling their careers and education, proving that it is possible to combine these crucial aspects of life.
Hala has a strong academic background. After graduating from Nürtingen-Geislingen University (HfWU) with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Management, she is now pursuing a PhD in economic/diplomatic relations with an emphasis on Arab-German ties. She is multilingual, speaking 5 languages.
Apart from her advanced project management, Leadership in Action, Sustainability in Business, and FEI Certification—qualifying her for the World Championship in Endurance Riding representing her country, Morocco—she holds international certificates in Political Protocol and Negotiation, as well as Artificial Intelligence Developing experience.
Currently, Hala is serving as a strategy business development manager. Through this strategic role, her contributions to building bridges between Arab and German economic and diplomatic sectors are truly wonderful.
Hala’s creativity and leadership acumen are demonstrated by her project management work with Erasmus for Entrepreneurs (Spain). In the equestrian industry, she demonstrated outstanding creativity by creating an eco-friendly horse treadmill that consumes 30% less energy. In this role, she successfully planned FEI-certified races, trained endurance horses for international competitions, oversaw the planning, permits, and logistics of events hosting over 100 participants, and expanded equine business opportunities by establishing and preserving connections with GCC and European clientele.
Hala represents Morocco as an endurance equestrian athlete on the world stage. She is passionate about preserving and promoting Moroccan heritage and is currently working on a documentary about the Barb horse, a powerful symbol of her Amazigh roots and national pride. Growing up in the Middle East, she is driven by a profound energy and responsibility to represent Moroccan, Arab, Muslim, and Amazigh women in the most competitive fields, including education, sports, economics, and diplomacy.
Success comes to those who embrace challenges. Hala exemplifies this brilliantly. To become the woman she is today, she put forth a lot of effort and conquered numerous obstacles.
“Living alone abroad, balancing the demands of elite athletics, high-level economics and diplomacy, all while pursuing advanced degrees, has been incredibly challenging. As a Moroccan Amazigh Muslim woman, I navigate multiple identities in competitive, often male-dominated spaces where expectations and biases exist. Financial constraints, cultural adjustments, and moments of isolation have tested my resilience. Yet, these challenges have strengthened my determination to break barriers and be a role model for young women like me. I am committed to proudly representing my heritage and contributing to a future where diverse voices and identities are celebrated and empowered,” she stated during a recent interview.
Because they inspire, motivate, and provide practical examples of achievable goals, same-gender role models may be particularly crucial for career success for women. Because of her incredible professional journey, which shows that balancing career, sport and education may be challenging but possible, Hala has undoubtedly become a career role model for the next generation of women.
