The three-member official delegation of the Department of Plant Protection (DPP/NPPO), Ministry of National Food Security and Research, Government of Pakistan, led by Dr. Uzma Sitara, Principal Scientific Officer accompanied by Mr. Muhammad Hassan Chachar, Senior Scientific Officer, and Mr. Tayyab Walayat, Entomologist Quarantine/Pakistan Single Window, called on High Commissioner Muhammad Saleem in Ottawa, today.
The DPP delegation is currently in Ottawa to attend the ‘Seminar on the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Its Regulatory Framework for Food, Safety, Health, Plant and Animal Health’ being held by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency from October 26-30, 2026.
The High Commissioner appreciated the growing bilateral collaboration between Pakistan and Canada in agri-food trade as also various capacity building initiatives in the relevant regulatory frameworks to facilitate deeper engagement in sectors of mutual interest.
